Dr. Miriam Petermann Wahl
Dr. Miriam Petermann Wahl is a retired public school teacher after 25 years of service. Certification areas include visual art K-12, elementary K-8, and intellectually gifted and talented K-12. As a faculty member and field advisor for the Whole Schools Initiative, Dr. Wahl designed, developed, and taught arts integrated curriculum in the areas of Language Arts and Math with emphasis in Common Core Standards. Her belief in the ability of the arts to further academic achievement and as an integral part of the educational process has been the guiding force in this curriculum development. Dr. Wahl continues her work in furthering the arts in education through workshops conducted through various agencies/school districts such as the Tupelo School District, the Mississippi Arts Commission and Mississippi State University/Riley Center. She is the recipient of the MAAE 2014 Arts Advocacy Award.
