Emily Tschiffely graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts (high school and BFA) and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (MFA.) Her choreography has been seen in New York City, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia and Brazil. From 2003-2008, Emily performed with David Parker and the Bang Group, originating roles in many works, teaching and touring in the U.S. and in Europe. Since moving to Mississippi in 2009, Emily has partnered with local elementary schools to present original after school programming in dance. In 2011, Emily received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission for her choreography. She was honored to serve on the board of directors for the Delta Arts Alliance in Cleveland, MS from 2011-2014, where in 2012, through the generosity of many people, a professional dance studio was installed. Emily invited other local dancers to begin teaching with her and today there is a growing schedule of dance and recreation offerings. Currently she is employed at MAC.
