Teaching History in Mississippi: The 2016 Teaching Institute

The Mississippi Museum of Art, the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, and the Mississippi State University Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education present an institute for history and social studies teachers on teaching history in Mississippi. The day-long workshop features sessions on using technology in the classroom and taking advantage of online and physical resources for teaching history in Mississippi, as well as discussions on incorporating local resources, like Mississippi historical sites and museums, into the curriculum. In addition, hands-on activities allow educators to collaborate with and learn from peers. Content Areas: History, Social Studies, and the Arts. Pre-registration is suggested.
